Abstract
A quasi-experimental study to assess the effectiveness of video assisted teaching programme on knowledge regarding post operative advices among CABG clients at selected hospitals, Guntur, A.P”. 60 samples were obtained by using purposive sampling technique. Data was collected by using socio demographic and self-structured knowledge questionnaire. Pre test and post test control group design was used to conduct the study. Video assisted teaching programme was conducted on post operative advices among CABG clients. The data obtained was analyzed and interpreted with the help of descriptive and inferential statistics and the level of significance was set at 0.05 level. The findings revealed that post test knowledge mean was 12.9 and 25.6 and standard deviation was 1.73 and 2.12 for control and experimental groups respectively. The obtained t value with regard to the knowledge (t=25.39) was highly significant at 0.05 level in experimental group. Thus, it is established the difference obtained in the mean values of before and after giving the video assisted teaching was effective and improved the knowledge of CABG clients.
